Johan Oldenboom (37) is a sociologist, specialized in urban sociology – security and criminology. Johan is also a part-time journalist specialized in human interest issues. From 2002 till 2015 he lived and studied in Holland. Since 2015 Johan is living in Curaçao. In Holland Johan worked as a journalist, as a project coordinator and as a policy advisor. He worked for the municipality of Rotterdam and The Hague and for the police department in Rotterdam.

Since 2015 Johan has been a lecturer and member of the academic staff of the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez, the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Furthermore  Johan is socially active in several organizations. As a sociologist and lecturer, Johan believes in an education system that makes people conscious about their own potentials.
